Suggestions in port:
Day 1:
Visit the Varanger Museum in Kirkenes, with exhibits about the town’s ordeal during WWII, before sailing to Vardo, Batsfjord and Berlevag.
Day 2:
Check out the UNESCO-listed Meridian Column is Hammerfest, shop for souvenirs at the Polar Bear Society or take the path behind the town to the viewpoint on Mount Salen
During this day you will also dock at a vital fishing port, may glimpse views of the Lyngen Alps and may possibly see the Northern Lights in Tromso.
Day 3:
Explore the archipelagos of Lofoten and Vesteralen, call at Hastad where the world’s northernmost mediaeval stone church sits and Sortland for 1,000-metre-high mountains. You may also sail to Trollfjord, the mountain walls look so close you’ll think you can touch them!
Day 4:
Commemorate cross the Arctic Circle with a tradition of tasting a spoonful of cod liver oil! Admire the stunning landscape of the Seven Sisters Mountains range, chat to your Coastal Expert about unmissable Torghatten Mountain and enjoy the bustling marina on a walk along Havnegeta.
Day 5:
Spend the morning in Trondheim, before exploring Kristiansund and Molde. Treat yourself to a nordic patisserie in one of the Bakklandets chic cafes then walk up to Kristiansten Fort, for great views of Norway’s third largest city.
